HMV Digital and rebranding HMV.com

When HMV were entering the MP3 market I was responsible for imagining how this would look. This involved developing the art direction and brand look and feel for the website and all digital touchpoints. The HMV Digital brand had no digital guidelines established at this early stage so it was important for me develop an identity and colour palette that was familar yet different enough to allow the brand to have its own unique voice.

 

My role on this project included:

After the stores had rebranded I worked on bringing the same feel to HMV’s digital presence by rebranding and redesigning the existing look and feel of the homepage.

 

A key part of this project involved reimagining the product UI to utilise the stunning artwork of the products and developing a simpler, richer feel, this approach enabled me to create harmony between our instore and online experience. I also wanted us to introduce simplified journeys from the homepage so we didn’t confuse our customers by overloading them with information.


The redesigned homepage was proven to reduce bounce rates and increase conversion by 10%+.
